Botanical Name: Juniperus chinensis 'Blue Point' (Blue Tip Juniper) Common Name: Blue Point Juniper, Blue Tip Juniper

Bring timeless structure and vibrant color to your landscape with our premium 7-Gallon Blue Tip Juniper! This popular evergreen conifer features a naturally dense, broad pyramidal (or conical) form with glowing blue-green foliage that shines year-round. The foliage consists of scale-like and needle-like leaves in a striking silvery-blue hue, providing excellent contrast against other plants and adding interest even in winter.

Key Features:

  • Mature Size: Reaches approximately 10-12 feet tall (up to 15 feet in ideal conditions) and 6-8 feet wide, forming a classic broad pyramid shape without needing frequent pruning.
  • Growth Rate: Moderate — expect 6-12 inches of new growth per year once established.
  • Foliage: Dense, vibrant blue-green needles/scales that maintain rich color through all seasons; no significant winter bronzing in most climates.
  • Hardiness Zones: 4-9 (tolerates a wide range of conditions, from cold winters to hot summers).
  • Landscape Uses: Ideal as a striking specimen plant, formal accent near entrances or patios, privacy screen, windbreak, hedge, or topiary. Plant multiples for a cohesive blue-toned border or standalone for bold vertical interest.

Care & Growing Tips:

  • Light: Thrives in full sun (6+ hours daily) for the best color and density; tolerates partial shade but may grow less compact.
  • Soil: Well-drained soil is essential — prefers average to slightly acidic; avoids heavy clay or constantly wet areas to prevent root rot.
  • Water: Moderate watering during the first growing season to establish roots; highly drought-tolerant once established — water deeply but infrequently.
  • Maintenance: Low-maintenance! Minimal pruning needed to maintain shape (prune lightly in late winter/early spring if desired). Deer-resistant and generally pest/disease-resistant in good conditions.
  • Pot Size Note: Our 7-gallon plants are well-rooted, mature specimens ready for immediate impact in the landscape. Expect a current height of about 3-5 feet (depending on exact age and pruning), providing instant structure compared to smaller pots.

This tough, adaptable juniper is perfect for low-water gardens, xeriscaping, foundation plantings, or anywhere you want reliable evergreen beauty with minimal effort. Plant it confidently — it's built to thrive and look great for years!

  • Returns and Refunds

Due to the perishable and live nature of our products, all sales of live plants are final. We do not accept returns or provide refunds under any circumstances, including change of mind, buyer’s remorse, or issues arising after proper care.

We stand behind the quality of our plants and want you to be delighted with your purchase. If your plant arrives damaged, unhealthy, or otherwise not in good condition due to shipping or handling (e.g., broken stems, severe wilting, or significant damage visible upon arrival), please contact us within 48 hours of delivery (or as soon as possible) with the following:

    • Your order number
    • Clear photos of the plant(s) as received, including any packaging damage
    • A brief description of the issue

We will review your photos and details promptly. If we determine the issue occurred during transit or was our responsibility, we will send a replacement plant of the same variety (or a comparable one of similar value if the original is out of stock) at no additional cost to you.

    Important notes:

    • Replacement is our sole remedy — we do not offer refunds, partial refunds, or store credit as alternatives.
    • We are not responsible for plant health or survival after delivery. Issues caused by improper care, unsuitable growing conditions, extreme weather, or delay in reporting problems are not eligible for replacement.
    • Shipping charges are non-refundable and non-creditable in all cases.
    • To help ensure the best possible arrival, we recommend selecting expedited shipping options (especially during hot or cold weather) and inspecting your package immediately upon delivery.

We take great care in packaging and shipping our live plants to give them the best chance of arriving happy and healthy. Thank you for understanding our policy and for choosing us for your plant needs!

  • We take great pride in safely delivering our live plants, including larger specimens like our 7-gallon potted Blue Tip Junipers, directly to your door. Due to the size, weight, and perishable nature of live potted plants (especially in 7-gallon pots, which can weigh 40–70+ lbs depending on soil moisture and plant density), we do not offer free shipping on any orders of Blue Tip Junipers. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location, order size, and carrier rates to ensure accurate and fair pricing.

    Key Shipping Details:

    • Carrier: We primarily use UPS Ground or FedEx Ground for reliable, trackable delivery of larger potted plants. (USPS may be used for smaller add-on items only.)
    • Shipping Costs: Calculated in real-time at checkout — expect higher rates for larger/heavier items like 7-gallon pots due to dimensional weight, distance, and handling requirements. Costs typically range from $30–$150+ per plant (or per box) depending on your zone and any multi-plant orders. We do not profit from shipping; rates reflect actual carrier charges plus careful packaging.
    • No Free Shipping Threshold: We do not offer free or discounted shipping thresholds for live plants, as packaging and transit requirements for healthy arrival make this unsustainable for larger potted items.
    • Shipping Schedule: Live plants ship Monday–Wednesday to avoid weekend delays. We ship year-round when weather permits, but may pause or adjust during extreme heat/cold to protect plant health (e.g., no shipping if temperatures exceed 95°F or drop below 20°F along the route). Check product pages or contact us for current availability.
    • Packaging & Care: Your 7-gallon Blue Tip Juniper will be securely packaged: the pot is bagged to contain soil, the plant is staked if needed for stability, and the box is reinforced with cushioning to minimize movement. We water plants appropriately before shipping (moist but not soggy soil) to help them arrive in excellent condition.
    • Restricted Areas: We cannot ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. territories due to regulations and transit risks. Some states have strict agricultural rules — we comply fully and may require inspections or limit certain shipments.
    • Delivery & Inspection: Packages require a signature for larger orders. Inspect your plant immediately upon arrival. If damage occurred in transit, follow our Returns and Refunds policy (replacement offered for eligible issues reported within 48 hours with photos).
    • Tips for Best Arrival: Choose a delivery address where someone can receive the package promptly (avoid leaving in extreme weather). For hot/cold seasons, consider upgrading to faster service if available at checkout.

We carefully select carriers and pack with the plant's well-being in mind to give your Blue Tip Juniper the best chance to thrive post-delivery. Thank you for understanding — shipping live plants, especially larger ones, is a labor of love!
